Weekend Getaway Gift Bags
Recently I created gift bags for six couples attending a weekend getaway to Deep Creek Lake, MD. The weekend is an annual event to the mountains and the couples share a house instead of staying at a hotel. My theme was "I Survived Deep Creek 2018" I made sure each bag contained a little humor, fun, and romance.
I found roomy silver tote bags and made personalized labels for each couple. Next I wanted a personalized gift for each guy and girl. This group loves their libations, so the men got Flasks with their name and the ladies received personalized acrylic tumblers perfect for wine or cocktails. Because this was a cold weather weekend, I included cozy socks for everyone. Apparently these were very well received as many people forgot slippers to wear around the house.
I found mini first aid bags on Amazon with "I Regret Nothing" printed on the front. There are definitely pre packaged versions available, but I wanted to choose the items that went in the bag. I filled them with travel size bags of: Advil, Pepto Bismol, Emergen-C, Altoids and cough drops. All the items needed the morning after a late night.
Because this group was renting a private home, and would not have the obligatory mini bar found in a hotel, I included bottled water (with personalized labels of course), energy bars and a candy bag
that read: "Something else sweet to nibble on", it was a couples weekend after all!
Finally, every great vacation involves a commemorative T Shirt. Otherwise people don't believe it happened. I used @RushOrderTees for unisex long sleeve tees. After inquiring about size I assigned each couple a different color shirt. So while everyone would have the same shirt, each couple would stand out in the group photo. I choose the color based on the little information I had about each couple. For example the couple that were avid Redskins Fans got Burgundy shirts, and the couple that were a military family got the Army Green.
